Bray LES: Client’s Story

Client StoriesMark registered with Bray LES when he was 16. He dropped out of school after his Junior Certificate and wanted an apprenticeship as a motor mechanic. After months of searching, Mark had no success in his job search. Though initially reluctant, he was guided by the service into improving his options by returning to complete his leaving Certificate. During this time, Bray LES helped Mark to pay for his books and he successfully passed all his exams.

He was then encouraged by the service to take on work as a garage forecourt attendant so as to develop his contacts within the motor trade. While working as an attendant, Mark continued to regularly meet a staff member from the service. Following a mail shot of his C.V. to local garages, he was offered and accepted a position as motor mechanic. Mark has been a client of the service for just under two years when he started his apprenticeship, the job that he had wanted to do since he was a child.
